Why We Become Lazy (And How To Fix It)

“People are not lazy. They simply have impotent goals – that is, goals that do not inspire them.” – Tony Robbins

So, why a picture of a dog? Well, it looks the spit of my ‘pooch’ – Max. And he’s looking lazy.

 

 

 

 

 

So, back to the point in question – Let me elaborate on Tony Robbins statement…

“I want to lose some weight” is a boring goal. You have to ask yourself why.

Is it to be more energetic for your kids? Why?
Is it to be more focused at work? Why?
Is it to boost your confidence? Why?
Is it to fit into your pants better so you don’t have to waste money on new ones? Why?

Then imagine yourself having more energy, being more focused at work, etc., etc. No seriously, take 5 minutes and imagine it. It’s actually really good.

Now the fun part… put it in writing. Better yet, tell the world.

Register for a 5K run three months from now.

Commit to a charity project that takes energy (helping build a house for the less fortunate, volunteering at a kitchen, etc.)

Ask for a promotion or even start a business within 90 days.

You get the idea…

You now have clear goals that push you to stay on track. You know you can’t just show up at a 5K unless you have a good foundation of fitness. And if you’re a couch potato, you know that being on your feet all day in a volunteer kitchen will hurt… so you get in shape for it. 😉

Make important goals, not impotent goals.
